Magic the Gathering Restocks

  We are currently sold out of Secrets of Strixhaven except for a couple of commander decks.  However, we did get in a restock of Modern Horizons 3 and Edge of Eternities boosters and Lorwyn Eclipsed commander decks so stop by and take a look

GW Releases for May 16th

 Here are the GW releases for May 16th.  If you want any, please let us know by Noon April 28th.

When fighting heavily armoured Space Marines, the regular humans of the Solar Auxilia need warriors capable of facing their post-human foes on something approaching equal terms. Enter Charonite Ogryns. When Ogryns aren’t available, overwhelming firepower is a valid option, and the Rapier Fire Support Battery and the Rapier Direct Fire Battery allows the Solar Auxilia to field weapons too heavy to be man-portable. All of these kits are available for the first time in plastic and are items most customers will buy multiples of to build every option. Updated rules for these great new models will be available in the upcoming supplement Journal Tactica: The Battle Of Tallarn – Part 1, which focuses on one of the biggest battles of the Horus Heresy.

In the war torn Old World, even your reinforcements need reinforcements. The new Grand Cathay: Iron Hail & Crane Gunners and Peasant Levy are available for the first time individually. Collectors will want multiples of these sets to maximise every option to crush the forces of Chaos once and for all!

Ascended Heroes

 We have Ascended Heroes booster packs back in stock, along with Perfect Order booster packs.  Ascended Heroes are $14.99 and Perfect Order are $6.99. We are not limited quantities on these but are not selling booster boxes of them either. You ae welcome to buy a booster box quantities but will not receive a discount on them, except in the form of Castle Cards or Prefered Customer discounts.

Disney Lorcana Wilds Unknown Pre-release

 for the first time Disney Lorcana is offering a true pre-release tournament, rather than us having a sealed deck tournament.  We are getting real pre-release kits containing  6 booster packs, 1 of 6 promo cards, 1 cardboard deck box, 4 dice, 1 set-specific item, and 1 rules sheet.  Our event will run the evening of May 13 adn will cost $40 per person. given the popularity of the past few sets of Disney Lorcana, we hope to see a good turnout.

 the Welcome to Barovia blind bags from Sirius Dice contain thousands of different possible combinations.  There are 55 different dice sets, 31 possible ability coins  and 7 different dice bags making, according to my calculations, at least 11,965 possible sets in each blind bag. Each of the dice pouches bears a symbol derived from some aspect of Ravenloft.

Monster of the Week Demo

Monster of the Week uses the Powered by the Apocalypse game engine to allow players to recreate the adventures of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the X-files or Supernatural.

Hummingbirds

 Hummingbirds is a new boardgame from The OP. Designed by Jason Tremblay, the designer of Tacta, Hummingbirds is a resource and time management game. Players move their birds to perch on hidden sand timers, attempting to collect the most nectar.  If you check the timer on which your bird is perched and it has run out, you gain a token.  If the time is still running, you lose a token. You may think you know how long 30 seconds is but are you sure?

Games Workshop New Releses May 9th

Commissar Yarrick returns with a splendid new miniature, Astra Militarum collectors will be sure to add this legendary and long beloved hero to their collections.  Also defending Armageddon are three brand new heroes for Imperial Forces; Commissar Graves, Inquisitor Kroyle, and Intranzia Fraye, Dogmata Superior.  The next expansion for Warhammer 40,000, Armageddon: The Return of Yarrick, includes new rules and lore for fighting in this iconic setting, along with the Armoured Gauntlet supplement, encouraging players to field as many tanks, monsters, and war machines in their games as possible. The mythical Bikeboss, Wazzdakka Gutsmek, explodes from the ancient pages of obscurity unto the fabled world of Armageddon. Wazdakka has existed in the background of Warhammer 40,000 for years, and has even had rules in the past – meaning that any intrepid Mek had an opportunity to kitbash their own Bikeboss. Secrets of Strixhaven Pre-releases

 Just a reminder that , in conjunction with Salukicon, we are hosting our Saturday pre-release event there, at 5:30 in the international lounge. Cost is $45 and you can pay your entry fee at our table in the Salukicon dealer hall.  There is an admission fee to Salukicon, though if you are a SIUC student, you get in free.

Our Sunday event will take place as usually at 1 p.m here at the store.

Speedpaint Markers

 We brought in the Army Painters SpeedPaint Marker line and have it between two of the Army painter Racks on the floor.   This is a really good product for those suffering from athritis or other things affecting manual dexterity as it allows them to keep painting without having to hold a brush.

Pokemon Cards up 170%

 should you cash in your stocks and invest in Pokmeon Cards?  Well, the value of Pokemon cards over the past year has increased 170% but Scott does not expect them to hold their value over the long term .  Of course, Scott also counseled parents back in the late 1990s not to expect Pokemon cards to hold their value over the long term so take his advice with a grain of salt.

Castle Zagyg

 Lord the store would love to back the Castle Zagyg part 2 kickstarter but unfortuately it written compatible with Castles and Crusades, no 5E material included. We backed part one of the set which came out a couple of years ago and still have 4 of the 6 books on the shelf, so will pass on getting this one. However, if we get 4 people contacting us and putting a down payment on the set, we will back it.  However the books do not release until march of 2027

Overstocks

 due to us having too much Magic bulk and boardgames, we are pausing accepting any more for trade or purchase until our quantities sell down.We are also culling our back issue comics, in anticipation of new shelving in May, so are not accpting any more back issues, save for golden and silver age books.
