Dave Wallace Memorial

 Dave Wallace, long time owner of St. Louis' Fantasy Shop, passed away last week after a long illness. There will be a celebration of his life this Saturday at 3 p.m. at the St. Charles Fantasy Shop location. Scott will leave the store about noon and has room for 3 people if anyone wants to ride along.

Birthday

 It is Scott's birthday on August 10th so stop in, have a cupcake and take one of each of the items on the table (while quantities last) as your present.

Family Vacation Night

 The store will be at Family Vacation Night in Murphysboro tomorrow night from 5;30 to 7:30.  Stop by our table and pick up a free comic and Pokemon Prize pack and sign up for our email list.

St Patrick's Day

 On St. Patrick's Day, Castle Perilous Games is a no-pinch zone. However, for every $25 you spend on Magic that day, you may select one green Magic card.

Incredibly Awesome Kid Day

 March 15 is Incredibly Awesome Kid Day so bring your incredibly Awesome Kid in and we will give them a free Pokemon Prize Pack. Limit one per kid but you can get more for every $25 you spend on Pokemon

Miniature Painting

 Come paint miniatures with us from 1 tp 3 today and again on Jan 30. Sydney will be painting and offering help on making your miniatures pop.

Scouting for Food

 We are a scouting for food drop off point. Drop off at least 10 non perishable items by this Sunday and get a free set of dice.

July 4th Update

We will open at our normal 10 a.m. time on July 4th but will close at 6 p.m. giving everyone the chance to get home before dark.
We are going to make this a Free Comic Fourth. Come in during open hours and you can take 2 free comics from the tables in the front room. You may take another comic for each stamp you earn on a Castle Card that day and one more if you have a Preferred Customer Card.

30th Anniversary Celebration

We have Domino's pizza, Texas Sheet Cake, cookies, carrots and chips in the back room. Wova from the Humane Society of Southern Illinois  up by the front and Cells at Work on the store teevee. Our 30th anniversary drawing takes place at 4:30 today so you still have plenty of time to stop by and pick up a ticket.

Although we celebrate the anniversary on Sunday, we actually had our soft opening 30 years ago today. We just opened the doors up in our 600 square foot store and let people in. I think we did around $500 that first day but sales dropped off so to about $60-$80 per day before slowly increasing over the years.

If you make a $10 donation to the Humane Society while you are here on Feb 16, you will receive an extra ticket for the raffle as well as a coupon good for 20% off everything you can fit in the gift bag. Snacks, original art and items behind the counter are excluded from this offer.

30th Anniversary Party

The store will celebrate 30 years in business on Feb. 16 and you are invited. We will have 50 gift bags to give away containing Castle Perilous branded items, a free comic, free RPG supplement and a free copy of the Camelot boardgame. In addition, the Humane Society of Southern Illinois will be here and for a $10 donation to the organization, you will receive a coupon good for 20% off anything you can fit in the the bag on that day.

We will have a drawing for over $1000 worth of merchandise at 4:30 p.m. You will get 1 ticket with your bag,  and 1 ticket when you donate $10 to the HSSI. You can get additional tickets by:

showing your Preferred customer card
come in wearing a Castle Perilous T-shirt
bring in 10 usable food items for the Good Samaritan House
bring in 10 cans of food or a 15 pound (or larger) bag of cat or dog food (no dyes in the food please)
bring in 10 pounds of Newspaper
earn a stamp on a Castle Card.

Happy New Year. Welcome to 2020. According to the Cyberpunk RPG, we were supposed to all have cybernetic implants by now. Not happened yet. However, we do have Buy one get one of equal or lesser value on Yu Gi Oh packs and back issue comics on Jan. 1 2020.

National Ice Cream Day

Just a reminder that National Ice Cream Day is this Sunday and, while we won't have any ice cream here, we will have coupons for a buck off a $5 purchase at Cool Spoons, which does have ice cream

Magic Core 2019 Demo Day

While Quantities last, bring in a friend, show them how to play Magic, they get a free demo deck and promo card, you get a promo card. Don't know anyone who doesn't already play Magic? Bring in your Magic playing friend, play a game of Standard and you both get a promo Card.

FireSide Games Tour

In case you would like to play games with the designers of Castle Panic and Here Kitty Kitty, FireSide Games will stop by on their Smash and Burn Tour on October 7th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (or later depending on interest. Come play Kaiju Crush and Hotshots and bring your favorite Fireside Games (or buy a couple) and have them signed.
