D&D Gift Sets

 D&D Gift sets containing Xanathar's Guide to Everything, Tasha's Cauldron of Everything and the Multiverse Guide to Monsters, all with limited edition foil covers, releases Jan. 25 2022. WOTC planned this as a gift set releasing for the holdiays but shipping problems due to COVID have caused them to push the release back. No word yet on when the Multiverse Guide to Mosnters will release on its own, save for a non-committal later in "2022".

Collections

 If you want us to look at a stack of Magic cards you are considering trading or selling, please bring them in before 8 p.m. If you show up after 8 p.m. we willnot have the time to go through them. Also on Tuesday, since we are busy processing comics, we will only be able to look at cards between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thanks.

New D&D

 Just caught on D&D Celebration that we will see two classic D&D settings updated for 5th edition in 2022 and a third setting in 2023. In 2024, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the game, WOTC will release the 6th edition of D&D.

Also just heard that in 2022 we will see Mordenkainen Presents:  Monsters of the Multiverse with 30 playable races This are playable races that have been released outside the core books and are world agnostic, that is, not tied to any particular world. Much as with Alternity, for those of you who remember that far back. this book will include concepts that will get incorporated into 6th edition.

Also in 2022, we will see a book with an alternate art cover featuring Boo the Miniature Giant Space Hampster so make of that what you will.

Most Popular D&D Class

 Showing just how popular D&D has become, the career website Zippia jsut posted a column on the states that play the most and least D&D as well as the most popular character classes. The state tha tplays the most D&D per capita is Utah, the least is New York. Given their relative population sizes that makes sense. 

Based on internet searchs, the most popular characer class is monk, followed by ranger and druid in a dead heat. Given that the rankings are based on internet seraches, it might just be that those are the classes most people have questions about and, ergo, they launched a search for info about them.

Witchlight Dice Sets

 Apparently WOTC has a set of dice to go along with the Wild Beyond the Witchlight book which have not shipped yet. We have a dozen sets coming when they do ship so if you are interested in snagging one, please let us know.

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight

 Both covers of the Wild Beyond the Witchlight released today. Wild is a campaign set in the Feywilds that can take characters from level 1 to 8. The setting is the Witchlight Carnival, a dark carnival somewhat similer to Mr. Dark's carnival from the classic Something Wicked This Way Comes.

The carnival comes to your world once every eight years, providing not only entertainment but access to a Feywild domain corrupted by the schemes of the Hourglass Coven. Stop the Coven and save the domain of Prismeer from fading into nothingness.

Midnight Hunt Pre-release

 Our first pre-release for the Magic Midnight Hunt set starts at 5 p.m. today. Entry is $30 and gets you one pre-release kit and entry into the tournament. You may of course, particpate in the pre-release at home which gets you one pre-reelase kit and one set booster.

Keyforge On Hiatus

 FFG announced today that the Keyforge collectible deck game is going on hiatus. According to FFG, the deckbuilding algorithm is "broken" and will need rebuilding "from the ground up". I guess, according to the link, that they have the next set ready to go, except for no decks?  

Midnight Hunt Spots

 although pre-resigration ended yesterday for the Midnight Hunt pre-release, we do still have spaces available for all three tournaments. Currently we have 35 kits still available at $30 each or $25 each if you get 4 or more.  If you pre-pay for spots, we will hod the tournament kits for the weekend tournaments for pickup at the time of the tournament. You mak pick up the other tournament kits thsi Friday.

Sunday's tournament will be a 2 headed giant. The other two tournaments will be  seaded format.

Commander Collection Black

 WOTC has posted the set of cards included in the Commander Collection Black here. No indication as to what the release date is in the article although an email we received from WOTC indicates Nov. 5

Debit Dawg

 It appears that the Univeristy has moved onto new equiptment for the Debit Dawg program and it is too expensive for us to get a terminal. the university will update again in a couple of years but, until then, we can only take Debit Dawg, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 pm, basically when the the SIUC ID office is open. Since most students wanting to use Debit Dawg want to do so on weekends and in the evenings, we expect to see our already low usage of the payment method drop even more.

New Graphic Novels

 In case you want to get all of the codes in one place, the Batman/Fortnight hardcover collection releases tomorrow, with all 6 issues of the mini series and 7 digital codes for use in the game. Also the newest volume of the very popular My Hero Academia and the collected Joker/Harley miniseries release as well.

Magic Midnight Hunt

 Here is a breakdown of where to find what cards in Midnight Hunt. One of the really confusing things is that 8 Commander cards are not found in the Commander Decks, but rather in the Set and Collector boosters only. Sheesh.

Orks

 GW is releasing  a whole bunch of Ork Stuff on the 11th. The  new Ork Codex as well as a Combat partrol Set  and a number of single figures and boxed sets, about half a dozen in all. We have 2 of each currently coming so if you want any, let us know ASAP so that we can bump our orders up and get them into your hands on release date
