New Year's Eve

The store will stay open until Midnight New Year's Eve or whenever the last person leaves, whichever comes first. We will have hot dogs and snacks in the back room along with open tables for gaming and MST3K on the store teevee.

Making of Original Dungeons and Dragons

 

the Making of Original Dungeons & Dragons, which came out last summer, is a woefully overlooked book that came out this pas summer. It contains reprints of the original D&D booklets, copies of correspondence between Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson and notes by Arneson on his original Blackmoor campaign. 

Christmas Hours

 We will open regular hours on Dec. 23 and will host our regularly scheduled events. The store will open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m on Christmas Eve and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas Day. We will not have any events scheduled for those two days but will have new comics available on Christmas Day.

Tales of the Arthurian Knights

 

We finally got in Tales of the Arthurian Knights, a Arthurian version of the classic Tales of the Arabian Nights board game. While quantities last, buy a copy of the game and get the Excalibur and Holy Grail promo pack FREE.

Artist Wanted

 No, not for us but Looney Labs is looking for an artist to draw cats for their upcoming Cat Fluxx game, releasing late 2025 or early 2026. Not sure at to what pay would be but here is the link to the form in case you are interested.

Lights Fantastic Parade

 Traffic, from what I could tell, was not as heavy in downtown as it has been in past years for the parade. I was able to navigate the sidewalks near the square quite easily and we still had plenty of cookies left over after the cookie walk.

I did hear a few people complaining about traffic getting all snarled up for, from what I could tell, it was moving pretty steadily with no noticeable jams or problems, aside from the cars I spotted driving the wrong way on Elm and University.

We do have plenty of cookies left over should you like to stop by and partake.

Comics 2

 Marvel Comics are still running late. At this stage, we think they are just not going to ship until next week so that is what we are planning on.

Comics

 Comics are likely delayed this week, at least Marvel and other books that we get from Diamond as that shipment has not posted to the company website. We will have DC books in your holds and some of the Image but the Marvel books will likely not arrive until Wednesday

Lights Fantastic

 Just a reminder that the Lights Fantastic parade takes place this Saturday at 6 p.m. Sl Illinois from the North side of the square down to Wall Street and all of the streets crossing it will close at 5 p.m. and reopen at 8. Traffic will flow as normal on South 51 though.
